The good news is 2020 will soon be over. The bad news is many things will still carry over into 2021.
For Lake Sakakawea, it’s the current severe drought. The Friends of Lake Sakakawea was born in response to a drought so we are ever vigilant as to a drought’s impact on lake levels and quality of place.
It’s what we’ve been doing for more than 20 years by advocating for sensible lake management, defending access, and working to keep our lake clean. We’ve also invested tens of thousands of dollars in improving boat ramps, camping areas, children’s parks, and providing financial assistance to first responders.
We’re able to do this because of the support of friends like you. Before this year ends, we invite you to renew your commitment to – or join us in – our work to make ‘North Dakota’s Great Lake’ even better through a tax-deductible charitable gift.
As a 501(c)3 organization, we offer four membership levels…
– Good Friend – Individual Membership: $50
– Great Friend – Family Membership: $100
– Best Friend – Business Membership: $300
– Praiseworthy Friend – NEW Lifetime Membership: $1,805 (Individuals only)
Our new lifetime membership level recognizes Lake Sakakawea’s lowest ever lake level of 1,805 feet and our determination to not return to those days when Lake Sakakawea was sacrificed and abandoned. All lifetime memberships are invested into a special fund where the interest income will finance our ‘Gifts for Greatness’ and other special projects.
Join Online Today. You can now become a member online at our new website: www.lakesakakawea.com/become-a-friend. Our new site allows you to join, contribute, and stay connected to what is happening around Lake Sakakawea.
Among the many things to be thankful this holiday season for is a full and clean Lake Sakakawea. Please join us in our work to keep it that way so everyone can enjoy ‘North Dakota’s Great Lake.’
